WHAT'S UP WEDNESDAY--SOCIAL DISTANCING FUN!

Whats Up Wednesday? Current Events from the Office of Student Life ...

Okay--so the plan was to share a few photos of our THESIS FAMILIES and how they are spending their time during this NATIONAL SHUTDOWN AND PANDEMIC. We know this is a stressful time, but we also know that we can make the best of the situation and share our lives in a fun and positive way!
The past couple weeks, for us have been very similar to our normal homeschool days--except my husband is at home all day. So we have enjoyed family lunches and afternoon walks. No activities in the evenings have made for LOTS of home cooking, and we have planned a fun activity for every night of the week. We keep a desk calendar on the kitchen table with the menu for the day and fun activity. It's helped everyone have things to look forward to and sense certainty in a season of uncertainty.
In addition we are taking the opportunity to teach the kids to cook these special meals by assigning one meal to a child once a week. We've added a nightly show--maybe AMAZING RACE, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, or this week we'll be starting the BIBLE MOVIE.
One thing we have really missed is going to church each Sunday, and connecting with friends. On Saturday night we had a virtual cookout. Our friends made their food, and we made ours. Then we FACETIME shared a meal and played a virtual cornhole tournament. It was so much fun!
Last weekend, we drove to deliver food to our older family members, and found a STATE PARK none of us had ever been to! It was chilly, but a lovely hike as a family.
We usually wait until school is out in early May to begin our yardwork and gardening, but due to extra time at home and nice weather--we all pitched in to start working this week.
One of our weekly fun nights was a LEGO MASTER challenge. Boy, building lego creations is much harder than I ever imagined!
Only a few of us enjoy leftovers--but with limiting our shopping trips--
we are eating every bite of every meal NOW!
Friday night was bingo night with vintage bingo game!
It was so much fun and filled with laughter and loudness!
The whole week wasn't perfect--Claire and Lorrie got a bad case of poison ivy from our yardwork. Claire's face was sooo BAD!
Here she is a week later though having a virtual tea party with her friend.

Now....how bout you? Surely, you all have some great ideas to share--fun photos and encouraging stories of lessons you are learning in this crisis. Let us know--and you can be featured on Wednesday!
